What is a Municipal Transformer Station (MTS)?

A Municipal Transformer Station (MTS) converts transmission voltages (230kV) to distribution voltage (27.6kV) so that it can be distributed to homes and businesses in Halton Hills. This station was constructed to ensure sufficient supply for current and future load in Halton Hills. It also provides an additional supply point from the transmission system which improves reliability for our customers.

Steeles Avenue corridor between Trafalgar Road and James Snow Parkway.

When was the MTS constructed?

The station was constructed between 2017-2019. It was energized in 2019.
