2020 Scorecard
Halton Hills Hydro is pleased to present our 2020 Scorecard. The Scorecard is a tool that measures how well Ontario’s electricity distributors are performing each year and includes a pictorial representation and a Scorecard Management, Discussion and Analysis to explain the detail behind the scorecard numbers. This document highlights our performance in a number of key categories such as Service Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Safety and Reliability, Asset Management and Cost Control. We have met or exceeded our targets in most of these areas. Did you know? Our Customer Care agents responded to 18,692 calls from customers in 2020. We issued 277,640 bills and achieved a billing accuracy rate of 99.90%. Halton Hills Hydro had two (2) outages that were designated Major Events on June 29, 2020 and August 28, 2020, both of which were due to severe weather. Tree contacts accounted for 53% of the total outage hours in 2020 (excluding Major Events). Halton Hills Hydro has been fully compliant with the Electrical Distribution Safety Regulation (O. Reg 22/04 for each of the last ten (10) years. For the last nine (9) years, Halton Hills Hydro has ranked in the top seven (7) LDCs in the province in efficiency benchmarking. Based on recent customer satisfaction surveys, 95% of Halton Hills Hydro customers were “very or fairly” satisfied. We are proud of our results in 2020 and continue to strive to meet or exceed our targets in all areas of our business. Each year, Halton Hills Hydro Inc. applies to the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) requesting changes to distribution rates. Halton Hills Hydro Inc. typically applies for a full review of rates every five years. Any rate changes for the years in between are made by applying a formula that is tied to inflation and other factors intended to promote efficiency. The OEB is an independent and impartial public agency who makes decisions that serve the public interest. The goal of the OEB is to promote a financially viable and efficient energy sector that provides consumers with reliable energy services at a reasonable cost.
