Building Demolition
Are you planning to demolish a building (ex. residence/ commercial business)? If so you may need to have your electrical service disconnected and removed. If you are unsure of where power enters your building please contact Halton Hills Hydro’s Engineering Department at Ext. 519-853-3700 Ext. 213 or HHHengineering@haltonhillshydro.com.
To have your electrical service disconnected and removed contact Halton Hills Hydro’s Engineering Department to make a request. You can contact us directly or submit your request online. To begin the process:
- Fill out the online Disconnect and Removal Application form;
- Attach your Demolition Clearance Form from the Town of Halton Hills;
- Submit the request.
Our Engineering department will review your application within 5 business days and contact you to advise you of the disconnect fee and schedule a disconnect and removal date. You will receive a copy of your Demolition Clearance form signed.
IMPORTANT – The owner of the hydro account must be the person submitting the application form. You will be asked in the online form to confirm that you are the person whose name the account is in. If the account holder is not the property owner, Halton Hills Hydro will require the property owners authorization as well prior to disconnecting the service.
IMPORTANT – Please be advised that as per Halton Hills Hydro’s Condition of Service, if the service being disconnected and removed was originally overhead, Halton Hills Hydro will require that any new service to the property be installed completely underground from our distribution system to the point of utilization on the building. This applies to all services where a customer requests their service to be disconnected and removed in respect of demolishing and constructing a new building.
