Halton Hills, ON – Halton Hills Hydro employees are on their way to New York State with bucket trucks and other equipment to assist in power restoration efforts in the wake of the severe storms that have affected the region. The crew including three power line workers, a line sub-foreman and the Manager of Operations received the call for help yesterday and are on their way this morning. “I am extremely proud of our employee’s willingness to jump in and lend a hand to neighbours. I wish them a safe trip and safe working conditions.” said Art Skidmore, Halton Hills Hydro President and CEO.

“The Town of Halton Hills supports and commends Halton Hills Hydro for providing assistance to the residents in need.” stated Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette.

Halton Hills Hydro is joining a convoy of power workers from several other local utilities on their way to New York.

Two powerful nor’easter storms have left hundreds of thousands of residents without power and another storm is in the forecast. The areas most affected are counties between Albany and New York City. The area where the crew is headed is near the area where Halton Hills Hydro crews assisted in 2012 in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.
